Urban League of Greater Cleveland Clients to Sell at Pop-Up Shop
The Ohio River Valley Women’s Business Council (ORV-WBC) hosted its’ 7th annual Catch the Wave Conference which was held in Cleveland, Ohio from April 18th – 20th. The ORV-WBC was established in 2009 to provide Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) certification to woman-owned businesses in the states of Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia. ORV-WBC operates under the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio, Business Development & Entrepreneurship Department through a collaborative effort with WBENC.
From May 23-26, National Urban League staffers attended the 2016 National Association for Latino Community Asset Builders (NALCAB) National Training, Breaking 
Ground, in Dallas, Texas. The conference used a unique "train-the-trainer" format to provide nonprofit practitioners serving low-to-moderate income Latino and immigrant communities with best practices and emerging innovations in the field.
Chicago Urban League Entrepreneurship Center Client Opens “Hairven on Earth”
Mr. George is a 19 year old male who currently resides with his mother and two other siblings, and who was only employed for four months prior to completing the intake process at the Urban League. Mr. George joined the Urban Supply Chain Jobs Program after an in-depth presentation on the program benefits, as well as a counseling session with the Pinellas County Urban League student advocate and his family, hoping to obtain additional skills and a certification to add to his newly gained work experience.
