With a win in the Texas Republican Presidential Primary Election, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney has secured enough delegates to insure his party’s nomination.
Mitt Romney mathematically clinched the Republican nomination for president on Tuesday, accumulating enough delegates from his win in the Texas primary to pass the 1,144 needed to secure the nomination at his party's convention in August.
The former Massachusetts governor lost the nomination four years ago to Sen. John McCain. Romney’s closest challenger, Rick Santorum, suspended his campaign two months ago.
President Obama is running unopposed for the Democratic nomination.
