BEEP

As a leader on my campus, I have had the opportunity to work with the BEEP Program in 2012 and in 2013 at Hampton University. Interacting with several BEEPers has inspired and influenced me to become active with the National Urban League upon graduation. I have gained new wisdom and insight through the BEEP program. Students who attend the BEEP Program gain a priceless learning experience by interacting with top corporate executives who look like them.

What are the BEEP seminars?

  • Accredited Lecture Series (ALS) - a semester-long series integrated into an ongoing course delivered by different Black executives.
  •  Career Awareness and Planning Seminar (CAPS) - a two-day activity of career planning exercises, workshops, counseling and lectures that places emphasis on the selection of realistic career choices, the charting of career paths, resume preparation, the development of good interviewing skills, and life skills.

BEEP's roster includes business executives, as well as highly trained technical and creative persons. Equipped with hands-on experience, Visiting Professors provide students with the practical experience they need to complement their academic courses.

Well over 2,000 professionals have participated in BEEP to date. The program has gained the cooperation of more than 1,000 corporations, government agencies and professional organizations.
