President Obama to Focus on Income Gap, Education in State of the Union Address

President Obama reportedly will focus on income inequality in his upcoming State of the Union address. He is expected to renew his call for an increase in the minimum wage as well as for an extension of federal unemployment benefits for the long-term unemployed.

The president has stepped up his messaging on income inequality and economic mobility in recent months, and gave a major address in which he called income disparity “the defining challenge of our time.”

Join the National Urban League for a LIVE Twitter chat during the State of the Union as we discuss the state of inequality and how the Urban League is working to achieve equity and empowerment.
