NEW YORK -- Western Governors University and the National Urban League have announced a partnership aimed at helping individuals affiliated with the historic civil rights organization achieve their academic and career goals.

Under the partnership, employees, members, and clients of the National Urban League are entitled to a $65 application fee waiver, 5% off WGU's already affordable tuition, and the opportunity to apply for one of twenty $5,000 WGU—National Urban League Go Further Scholarships. The National Urban League is dedicated to economic empowerment in order to elevate the standard of living in historically underserved urban communities. WGU and the National Urban League are a great fit because of WGU's commitment to offering opportunities for accessible, affordable online education.

"The National Urban League is thrilled to have partnered with WGU," said Marc H. Morial, President and CEO of the National Urban League. "Their online programs offer flexibility, high quality, and affordability and give individuals a great opportunity to earn a degree that will be respected by employers nationwide."

Individuals affiliated with Urban League programs who earn their degree from WGU will enjoy the personalized support of an assigned mentor, rigorous yet flexible courses, a variety of degree programs in four colleges to choose from, and the credibility of a degree from an accredited online university – all for a tuition that's lower than most other online schools.
