Gainful Employment Joy in L.A.
Ricardo F. was laid off from Monique’s Adult Care after being employed 12 years in the Maintenance Department. He came to the Los Angeles Urban League (LAUL) after being unemployed for the past five months, only receiving SSDI. Ricardo was looking for a training program to enhance his skills to obtain a good paying job.
Ricardo’s goals were to pass the Customer Service Operation credential exam and become gainfully employed in the Supply Chain Management industry, and eventually to open a bed and breakfast. Ricardo passed the exam in August 2016, and then the LAUL Program Manager helped Ricardo get a job interview at Kelly Services, where he was hired as an Assembler making $11.00/hour.
Ricardo believes that, with his determination and dedication, he will remain gainfully employed in Warehouse Operations and that ultimately he will open a small business and give back to the community.
