Wells Fargo: Neighborhood Renovation Program Contest
Wells Fargo Works for Small Business®: Neighborhood Renovation Program Contest started on 4/15/16 and ended on 5/15/16 and was sponsored by Wells Fargo Bank in collaboration with the National Urban League, Greater Baltimore Urban League, Rebuilding Together Baltimore, and Gensler. Three small business owners were selected as Finalists by a panel of judges based on their completion of an Application, photographs of their business, and responses to essay questions. Each Finalist received the opportunity to improve the appearance of their business and visual merchandising by working with Gensler and Rebuilding Together Baltimore. Wells Fargo donated a total of $30,000 (up to $10,000 per business) for the renovation. Finalists also received business coaching from the Raymond V. Haysbert, Sr. Center for Entrepreneurship at the Greater Baltimore Urban League. Once all the renovations were completed, one renovation was selected by the contest judges to have the best design and then there was a public vote to determine the best design voted by attendees of the 2016 Small Business Matters Entrepreneurship Summit at the Annual Conference.
