Hakim C. obtained a job in Supply Chain Management at the Hudson Group with assistance from the Chicago Urban League. Hakeem says, I believe the classes and certifications I received were very instrumental in me getting the Management Position at the Hudson Group. I had been unemployed for about nine months when I decided to enroll in classes at the Chicago Urban League. It was a bit challenging at first because I had not taken courses online before. But with the help of our instructor Mr. Howard and guidance of Mr. Parker, I, along with the other students felt like we could complete the courses and pass the exams. Although I didn’t find a job immediately after successfully passing my exams, I knew that the knowledge I had gained would be instrumental in me landing a job. I found a position that was open with the Hudson Group after meeting their representatives at the Chicago Urban League’s city-wide job fair. While talking with them at their table, I shared with them that I had recently become certified in Supply Chain Management, Customer Service, and Supply Management and Procurement and that I understood the entire process of supplies getting to the client or store in a timely and efficient manner. I was asked to submit my resume and complete an online application.”
"Within a week of applying, I had my first interview and learned was offered a management position in the supply distribution center. I now manage all supplies and distribute those supplies to all the Hudson Group stores in the Airport.”
