OurTime.Org: New Media Internship (Fall 2013)

OurTime.org is one of the nation's fastest-growing non-profit organizations that leverages online organizing, new media, and popular culture to enhance the political voice of young Americans. More than one million members strong, we lead campaigns that register voters, remove ballot barriers, and highlight relevant news and policies that will impact our generation’s lives. Since launching in 2011, we have formulated strategic partnerships with dozens of well-known brands, social media destinations, and celebrity partners to increase civic awareness among America’s rising electorate.
  

The Position: 

We are currently seeking an energetic new media intern to help take our rapidly growing online and social media operation to the next level by aggressively promoting our daily web content, articles, op-eds through online channels to help grow our membership and encourage increased participation in our efforts. The ideal candidate will have vast knowledge of most typically used social media sites including Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Reddit among others. He or she must also possess excellent creative skills in designing and curating memes to help drive engagement. 

Requirements:

• Excellent working knowledge of heavily trafficked social media sites including Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, Reddit, Pinterest
• Excellent writing skills
• Excellent research and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Comfort in a fast paced campaign style environment and the ability to work independently
• Keen interest in our mission to promote economic and voter empowerment for all young Americans
• Good sense of humor
