National Urban League Washington Bureau (NULWB) Releases New Affiliate Guide on Comprehensive Child Welfare Finance Reform
At a special breakfast meeting of the National Urban League Child Welfare Working Group on July 25, 2013, during the NUL Annual Conference in Philadelphia, PA, the NULWB released a new publication, Aligning Federal Dollars with Better Outcomes for Children and Families, A Guide to Comprehensive Child Welfare Finance Reform for Urban League Affiliates. Funding for this project was provided by the Marguerite Casey Foundation, and the NULWB worked in collaboration with Casey Family Programs.
The publication provides a wealth of information and guidance on why Urban League affiliates should become involved in comprehensive child welfare finance reform; acquaints the reader with basic information pertaining to the child welfare system; and outlines key steps that Urban League affiliates can take to become involved in engaging their communities and policymakers to secure the well-being of children and families.
