Charlotte, N.C. -- At first glance the basketball camp inside the Greenville Neighborhood Center looked like so many others where children are able to enhance their skills in basketball.
But "Full Court Press" is so much more than just learning basic skills from former NBA players; the program teaches local children the importance of education and overcoming adversity.
Chris Washburn, Xavier McDaniel, Vernon Maxwell, Eric "Sleepy" Floyd and Kenny Battle took part in Tuesday’s free basketball camp.
The program is a partnership with the National Urban League and National PAL (Police Athletic League), and Charlotte is one of more than a dozen cities the program will visit.
