United States Senator Reid Launches Bolden Memorial Internship Application Process
United States Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) has launched the application process for the Larry Bolden Memorial Internship. Reid established this internship in honor of his longtime friend and former Deputy Chief of Las Vegas Police Department, Larry Bolden.
Lavonne Lewis from Las Vegas Clark County Urban League (Las Vegas, NV) and Hannah Brown of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women joined former Bolden Interns to discuss the opportunity and kick off the intern search process for the 2012-2013 period.
“Larry Bolden was my very good friend and I am so pleased to honor his legacy with this internship,” Reid said. “So many Nevadans have benefited from Larry’s service and it is in that spirit that the Bolden Memorial Internship was created. The Larry Bolden Memorial Internship has enabled Nevada’s finest young people to experience Congress first hand in our nation’s capital. I look forward to welcoming other young Nevadans to join my office in Washington D.C. to continue this tradition.”
The internship opportunity is awarded to a highly motivated, outstanding student and/or recent undergraduate of a Southern Nevadan institute of higher education. The Bolden internship is designed to provide an individual interested in public service the opportunity to intern for Senator Harry Reid in his Washington, DC office.
The event was hosted March 20, 2012 at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
