A walk-a-thon to benefit InfaTech was held on Tuesday at the Greater Stark County Urban League (Canton, OH).
InfaTech is a new literacy-based, early intervention program that utilizes technology and age-appropriate websites.
The project is the brainchild of Hartford Middle School teacher Myra Watkins in partnership with the Greater Stark County Urban League.
The program, which is designed for parents and children, is seeking to reduce the “digital divide” currently afflicting minority communities.
Proceeds will be used to purchase computer notebooks and accessories for the participants, who are ages 3 to 10.
