Tyrone David Laquan Stokes, 17, will be a senior at Snyder High School when school resumes in the Fall. He is an honor student with perfect attendance and is enrolled in the Music Composition and Arrangement program.
In the 9th grade Tyrone was getting in minor trouble at school and his grades were slipping down. He was also having problems getting along with his sister. He said, “I did silly stuff then. I prefer myself now to how I was.”
Tyrone’s mom, Adele Stokes, knew the Urban League had programs that helped kids become more responsible and mature. Connecting her son to the CEO Program changed her son’s life forever.
“My mother and the staff of the Urban League helped me. They talked to me about the things that I should do and the things that I should not be doing.” His mentor in the CEO Program introduced Tyrone to a new program within the Urban League-Digital Connectors.
