Goal #3: Every American Lives in Safe, Decent, Affordable & Energy Efficient Housing on Fair Terms
NUL’s housing and community development initiatives focus on expanding homeownership opportunities in inner-city neighborhoods and rural communities.
The division operates on the basis that economic and social self-sufficiency achieved through homeownership strengthens families, neighborhoods, and cities by giving residents a stake in the welfare of their communities.
By providing technical assistance and training, identifying and disseminating information on effective homeownership models, and conducting research to strengthen the policy environment for homeownership, this division enhances the programmatic and policy capabilities of local NUL affiliates to contribute to the 2025 empowerment goal of ensuring all Americans have access to safe, decent, affordable, and energy efficient housing on fair terms.
