Greenville Woman Received 24 Months of Mortgage Payments Thanks to the Urban League!

Thanks to the comprehensive housing services of the Urban League of the Upstate, Mrs. Hall was able to regain ownership of her home and receive mortgage payment assistance for two years.

Empowerment Goals: 

Robin and Simone are in their early 40s and married with 3 children. They were clients of the Urban League of Palm Beach County for over 5 years before becoming new homeowners. Credit issues and lack savings were their key obstacles at first; but after attending the Urban League homebuyer education and other financial workshops, they were able to overcome these obstacles.

Ms. Foley received a Nationstar mortgage flier in March 2017 with her mortgage statement.  Inside, they included the Urban League of San Diego County’s contact information for financial help. Ms. Foley had been feeling desperate and was receiving frequent calls from scammers. She called and spoke with our affiliate’s counselor, who sent the intake package hard copies via mail to the client.  She knew she wanted to get something started, but didn't have a feeling of urgency.  Towards the end of 2017, she filled it out and called back.

Mrs. Reilly wanted to buy a house for her and her grandchildren, but faced multiple financial hurdles to homeownership. She was declined by three banks and was starting to feel hopeless. A year ago, Mrs. Reilly attended a Home Store pre-purchase homebuyer education class at the Urban League of Rochester, and within a week she submitted a housing counseling intake form to Sarah Simson, the Housing Counseling Program Manager. Mrs. Reilly attended a one-on-one counseling session with Sarah. After her meeting, Mrs.

The Jacksonville Urban League Helped Get Their Client 6 Month’s Worth of Mortgage Payments!

Mr. Thompson visited the Greater Sacramento Urban League after missing 18 mortgage payments that resulted in a pending sale date. He had heard about our affiliate from word of mouth and was on the brink of losing his home. Unfortunately, he had become disabled at work after over 40 years of service at Pacific Gas and Electric. Prior to becoming disabled, Mr. Thompson had an excellent history of paying his mortgage on time.
